Aprodex Eye/Ear Drops

Antibiotic + steroid ear/eye drops for:

• Ear: acute otitis externa (swimmer's ear); acute otitis media in children with ear tubes (grommets)
• Eye: bacterial eye infections with inflammation; post-operative eye inflammation with infection risk

Ear drops (ciprofloxacin 0.3% + dexamethasone 0.1%), adults and children over 6 months: 4 drops into the affected ear twice daily for 7 days.

• Warm the bottle in the hands first; lie with the affected ear up, put the drops in, and stay in this position for about 60 seconds (pump the tragus for ear tubes).

Eye drops: 1–2 drops every 4–6 hours (more frequently in the first 1–2 days), usually for up to 7–10 days.

• Viral infections of the ear canal or eye (herpes, varicella), fungal infections
• Allergy to quinolones or corticosteroids
• Eye: untreated purulent infection, tuberculosis of the eye

Ear: ear discomfort, itching, ear debris, taste changes.

Eye: stinging, blurred vision; with prolonged use raised eye pressure, cataract, secondary fungal infection.

Rare: allergic reactions, fungal overgrowth.

• Stop if rash or allergy appears.
• If symptoms do not improve after 1 week, re-evaluate (fungal infection possible).
• Eye: use beyond 10 days only with eye-pressure monitoring.

Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding only if needed (low absorption).

No significant systemic interactions; wait 5 minutes between different eye or ear drops.

Not expected; rinse eye with water if too many drops.

Store below 25–30°C; do not freeze. Discard 4 weeks after opening.
