Bilastop 20 mg Tablet

Non-sedating second-generation antihistamine for:

• Allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (seasonal and year-round): sneezing, runny/itchy nose, itchy watery eyes
• Urticaria (hives) and itching

Adults and children 12 years and over: 20 mg once daily.

Children 6–11 years (at least 20 kg): 10 mg once daily (orodispersible tablet or oral solution).

• Take on an empty stomach — 1 hour before or 2 hours after food or fruit juice.
• No dose change needed in elderly or kidney impairment.

• Allergy to bilastine
• Children under 6 years or under 20 kg

Common: headache, drowsiness (uncommon compared with older antihistamines), dizziness, tiredness.

Less common: stomach pain, nausea, increased appetite, dry mouth, palpitations, raised liver enzymes.

• History of QT prolongation or arrhythmia: caution.
• Moderate–severe kidney impairment with P-glycoprotein inhibitors: avoid.

Avoid in pregnancy as a precaution. Not recommended while breastfeeding unless advised.

• Food and fruit juices (grapefruit, apple, orange) reduce absorption — take on an empty stomach
• Ketoconazole, erythromycin, diltiazem, ciclosporin, ritonavir (raise levels)
• Alcohol and sedatives: no increased effect shown, but caution

Dizziness, headache, nausea; heart rhythm should be monitored at very high doses. Supportive care.

Store below 30°C.
