Droxigel Tablet

Antacid with an anti-gas agent for:

• Heartburn, acid indigestion, hyperacidity
• Bloating, wind and abdominal fullness associated with indigestion
• Symptomatic relief in gastritis, peptic ulcer and reflux (add-on)

Adults: 1–2 chewable tablets or 5–10 ml (1–2 teaspoons) suspension, 3–4 times daily, 30 minutes–1 hour after meals and at bedtime, or when symptoms occur.

Children over 6 years: half the adult dose, as directed.

• Chew tablets well; shake the suspension.
• Do not use regularly for more than 2 weeks without advice.

• Severe kidney impairment
• Low phosphate levels
• Bowel obstruction; severe undiagnosed abdominal pain
• Allergy to any ingredient

Common: constipation or diarrhoea (usually balanced), chalky taste.

Long-term high doses: low phosphate, aluminium or magnesium build-up in kidney failure.

• Kidney disease: avoid long-term use.
• Persistent symptoms, weight loss, difficulty swallowing, black stools or vomiting blood need medical review.
• Some products contain sugar or sodium.

Occasional use at recommended doses is considered safe in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Take 2–4 hours apart from: tetracyclines, quinolones, azithromycin, iron, levothyroxine, digoxin, ketoconazole/itraconazole, bisphosphonates, gabapentin; may cause early release of enteric-coated tablets.

Diarrhoea or constipation; in kidney failure, magnesium/aluminium excess. Seek advice.

Store below 30°C; do not freeze.
