Lipicon EZ 20/10 Tablet

Statin + cholesterol absorption inhibitor for:

• High LDL cholesterol (primary hypercholesterolaemia, mixed dyslipidaemia) not controlled by a statin alone
• Prevention of heart attack and stroke in high-risk patients
• Homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia (with other treatment)

Adults: 1 tablet (ezetimibe 10 mg + atorvastatin 10, 20, 40 or 80 mg) once daily, at any time, with or without food.

• Strength chosen by LDL goal; check lipids after 4 weeks.
• Continue a cholesterol-lowering diet.
• Not for children under 10.

• Active liver disease or unexplained persistently raised liver enzymes
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Use with glecaprevir/pibrentasvir
• Allergy to either ingredient

Common: muscle aches, joint pain, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, wind, headache, tiredness, raised liver enzymes.

Rare but serious: myopathy/rhabdomyolysis (unexplained muscle pain, weakness, dark urine), hepatitis, pancreatitis, raised blood sugar, severe allergy.

• Report unexplained muscle pain or weakness, especially with fever.
• Liver tests before starting and if symptoms occur.
• Risk of myopathy higher in elderly, kidney impairment, hypothyroidism, heavy alcohol use.

Contraindicated in pregnancy — use contraception; stop if pregnant. Do not breastfeed.

• Ciclosporin, clarithromycin, itraconazole, HIV/HCV protease inhibitors (high statin levels — avoid or limit dose)
• Gemfibrozil, fibrates (myopathy)
• Fusidic acid (avoid — rhabdomyolysis)
• Warfarin (monitor INR); colestyramine (take ezetimibe 2 h before or 4 h after)
• Large amounts of grapefruit juice

No specific treatment; supportive; check liver and muscle enzymes.

Store below 30°C, protected from moisture.
