Nolargy 30 mg/5 ml Suspension

Non-drowsy antihistamine for:

• Seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy watery eyes)
• Chronic urticaria (hives) and itching

Adults and children 12 years and over: allergic rhinitis 120 mg once daily (or 60 mg twice daily); urticaria 180 mg once daily.

Children 6–11 years: 30 mg twice daily. Children 2–5 years: 30 mg (5 ml suspension 30 mg/5 ml) twice daily; 6 months–2 years: 15 mg twice daily, as prescribed.

• Take with water; avoid fruit juices (orange, apple, grapefruit) within 1–4 hours — they reduce absorption.
• Kidney impairment: start with 60 mg once daily.

• Allergy to fexofenadine or terfenadine

Common: headache, drowsiness (uncommon compared to older antihistamines), dizziness, nausea.

Less common: tiredness, dry mouth, sleep problems.

Rare: allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty), fast heartbeat.

• Usually does not impair driving, but check how it affects you first.
• Use with care in kidney impairment and the elderly.

Limited data; use in pregnancy only if needed (loratadine/cetirizine are often preferred). Probably acceptable while breastfeeding at normal doses.

• Antacids with aluminium/magnesium (take 2 hours apart)
• Fruit juices (reduce effect)
• Erythromycin, ketoconazole (may increase levels; not clinically important usually)

Dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth. Treat symptoms.
