Ingestion or excessive use: salicylate poisoning (ringing in ears, nausea, fast breathing).
Precautions & warnings
- Keep away from eyes, mouth and mucous membranes.
- Do not apply after a hot bath or with heating pads (burns).
- Avoid large areas; avoid with aspirin allergy or on anticoagulants (excessive use).

Pregnancy & breastfeeding
Avoid regular or extensive use in late pregnancy; occasional use on small areas is generally acceptable. Do not apply to the breast while breastfeeding.
Interactions
- Warfarin (extensive topical salicylate can raise INR and cause bleeding)
- Other salicylates/NSAIDs (additive effects with heavy use)
