Peviderm Cream

Antifungal + corticosteroid cream for inflamed fungal skin infections:

• Ringworm (tinea) of the body, groin, feet with marked inflammation or itching
• Candida skin infections and intertrigo with inflammation
• Infected/inflamed dermatoses where fungal infection is present

Adults and children over 2 years: apply a thin layer twice daily (morning and evening) to the affected area and rub in gently.

• Use for a maximum of 2 weeks (steroid component); if further treatment is needed, continue with an antifungal cream alone (e.g. econazole or clotrimazole) until 2 weeks after clearance.
• Not under occlusive dressings or nappies; avoid the face unless advised.

• Viral skin infections (herpes, chickenpox), tuberculosis of the skin, bacterial skin infections without treatment
• Acne, rosacea, perioral dermatitis
• Allergy to imidazoles or triamcinolone
• Infants under 2 years (nappy area)

Common: burning, itching, redness at the site.

With prolonged use: skin thinning, stretch marks, visible vessels, discolouration, steroid acne, worsening of fungal infection when used alone for long (tinea incognito).

Rare: allergic contact dermatitis.

• Do not use for more than 2 weeks, or as a cosmetic/skin-lightening cream.
• Keep away from eyes.
• May damage latex condoms/diaphragms if used in the genital area.
• Keep skin dry; avoid sharing towels.

Use in pregnancy only if needed, on small areas for short periods. Do not apply to the breast while breastfeeding.

Minimal with normal topical use. Econazole absorbed from large areas may increase warfarin effect (rare).

Not expected with normal use; prolonged overuse may cause steroid side effects.

Store below 30°C.
