Prasugen-5 Tablet

Antiplatelet (P2Y12 inhibitor), with aspirin, for:

• Acute coronary syndrome treated with coronary stenting (PCI) — prevention of heart attack, stent thrombosis and cardiovascular death

Adults: loading dose 60 mg once, then 10 mg once daily, with aspirin 75–100 mg daily, usually for up to 12 months.

• Weight under 60 kg: 5 mg once daily maintenance.
• Age 75 and over: generally not recommended; if used, 5 mg daily.
• With or without food. Do not stop without your cardiologist's advice.

• Active pathological bleeding
• History of stroke or TIA
• Severe liver impairment
• Allergy to prasugrel

Common: bleeding (nose, gums, bruising, gastrointestinal, urinary), anaemia, rash.

Serious: major or life-threatening bleeding including brain haemorrhage, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), allergic reactions/angioedema.

• Higher bleeding risk than clopidogrel — especially in elderly, low body weight, recent trauma/surgery, peptic ulcer.
• Stop at least 7 days before elective surgery (on cardiologist's advice).
• Report black stools, blood in urine or vomit, severe headache.

Use in pregnancy only if clearly needed. Avoid breastfeeding during treatment.

• Warfarin, rivaroxaban, apixaban, heparins (major bleeding)
• NSAIDs, SSRIs (bleeding)
• Opioids such as morphine (delay absorption in acute settings)

Prolonged bleeding; platelet transfusion may be needed. Emergency care.

Store below 30°C, in the original package (protect from moisture).
