Ribiflavine 5 mg Tablet

Vitamin B2 for:

• Prevention and treatment of riboflavin deficiency (cracked corners of the mouth, sore tongue, eye irritation, skin changes)
• Mouth ulcers/angular cheilitis linked to B-vitamin deficiency
• Migraine prevention (high dose, 400 mg daily — doctor's advice)
• Eye drops (with UV light, specialist): corneal cross-linking for keratoconus

Deficiency (adults): 5–30 mg daily in divided doses until symptoms improve.

Children: 3–10 mg daily.

Migraine prevention: 400 mg once daily for at least 3 months (on advice).

• Take with food for better absorption.

• Allergy to riboflavin (very rare)

Very well tolerated.

• Bright yellow-orange urine (harmless).
• High doses: occasional diarrhoea or increased urination.

• Deficiency often occurs with other B-vitamin deficiencies — a B-complex may be more appropriate.
• Persistent mouth or tongue sores need medical review.

Safe in pregnancy and breastfeeding at normal supplement doses.

• Tricyclic antidepressants, phenothiazines, probenecid may reduce riboflavin levels
• Alcohol reduces absorption
• Yellow urine may affect some urine tests

Excess is excreted in urine; toxicity is not expected.

Store below 30°C, protected from light.
