Rupoma Oral Solution 100 mg/100 ml

Non-sedating antihistamine with anti-PAF action for:

• Allergic rhinitis (seasonal and year-round): sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy watery eyes
• Chronic spontaneous urticaria (hives) and itching

Adults and children 12 years and over: 10 mg once daily, with or without food.

Children 2–11 years (oral solution 1 mg/ml): 10–25 kg: 2.5 mg (2.5 ml) once daily; 25 kg and over: 5 mg (5 ml) once daily.

• Not recommended under 2 years.
• Kidney or liver impairment: use with caution.

• Allergy to rupatadine
• Children under 2 years

Common: drowsiness, headache, tiredness, dizziness, dry mouth.

Less common: increased appetite, nausea, stomach pain, constipation, raised liver enzymes, muscle pain.

Rare: palpitations, fast heartbeat.

• May cause drowsiness in some people — avoid driving if affected.
• QT prolongation history, low potassium, heart rhythm problems: caution.
• Elderly over 65: caution.

Avoid in pregnancy as a precaution. Not recommended while breastfeeding.

• Ketoconazole, erythromycin, itraconazole, clarithromycin, grapefruit juice (raise levels — avoid)
• Alcohol and sedatives (more drowsiness)
• Statins (rare raised CK — caution)

Drowsiness, headache; possible heart rhythm effects at very high doses. Supportive care.
