Sitacret-100 F.C Tablet

DPP-4 inhibitor for type 2 diabetes in adults, with diet and exercise:

• Alone when metformin is unsuitable
• With metformin, sulphonylureas, glitazones, SGLT2 inhibitors or insulin

Adults: 100 mg once daily, with or without food.

Kidney impairment:

• eGFR 30–45: 50 mg once daily
• eGFR below 30 or dialysis: 25 mg once daily
• When added to a sulphonylurea or insulin, their dose may need lowering to avoid hypoglycaemia.
• Not for children under 18 or type 1 diabetes.

• Allergy to sitagliptin
• Type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis

Common: headache, nasopharyngitis, upper respiratory infections, low blood sugar (with sulphonylureas/insulin).

Less common: constipation, dizziness, itching, joint pain.

Rare but serious: pancreatitis (severe persistent abdominal pain, may spread to the back), severe allergic reactions and angioedema, Stevens–Johnson syndrome, bullous pemphigoid (blisters), severe joint pain, kidney function worsening.

• Stop and seek help with severe persistent abdominal pain.
• History of pancreatitis: caution.
• Check kidney function before starting and periodically.

Not recommended in pregnancy (insulin preferred) or while breastfeeding.

• Sulphonylureas, insulin (hypoglycaemia)
• Digoxin (slight rise — monitor)
• ACE inhibitors (possible higher angioedema risk)

Generally well tolerated; supportive care.

Store below 30°C.
