Tolfamax 200 mg Tablet

NSAID mainly used for:

• Acute migraine attacks (treatment)
• Pain and inflammation: musculoskeletal pain, dysmenorrhoea, post-operative pain, rheumatic conditions

Migraine (adults): 200 mg at the first sign of the attack; may repeat once after 1–2 hours if needed.

Pain/rheumatic conditions: 100–200 mg three times daily.

Dysmenorrhoea: 200 mg at onset, then 200 mg three times daily as needed.

• Take with food or water; maximum usually 600 mg/day.
• Not recommended for children.

• Allergy to tolfenamic acid, aspirin or other NSAIDs
• Active or recurrent peptic ulcer/bleeding
• Severe heart, kidney or liver failure
• Last trimester of pregnancy

Common: indigestion, nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, burning on urination (dysuria — common in men, harmless), headache.

Less common: dizziness, rash, fluid retention.

Rare but serious: stomach bleeding/ulcer, kidney injury, heart attack/stroke risk with long-term use, severe allergy, bronchospasm, liver problems.

• Use the lowest effective dose; do not combine with other NSAIDs.
• Heart disease, hypertension, asthma, kidney disease, elderly: caution.
• Frequent migraine medicine use can cause medication-overuse headache.

Avoid in the first 6 months unless advised; contraindicated in the last 3 months. Avoid while breastfeeding.

• Other NSAIDs, aspirin, steroids (stomach bleeding)
• Warfarin, antiplatelets, SSRIs (bleeding)
• ACE inhibitors, ARBs, diuretics (kidney injury)
• Lithium, methotrexate (toxicity)

Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, drowsiness. Seek medical care.

Store below 30°C.
